Timeless Expressions: Korean Art
Opera Gallery is proud to present ‘Timeless Expressions: Korean Art’, a group exhibition featuring works by renowned Korean artists Cho Sung-Hee, Kim Hee Kyung, Lee Gi Seong, Yoo Bong Sang, Ko Jae and Lee Gil Rae. This exhibition explores the evolution of Korean art, emphasising its deep connections to traditional materials and the innovative use of new media.
The exhibition showcases a blend of traditional and unconventional materials, creating a unique crossover between different mediums. Inspired by tradition, yet liberated from conventional definitions, these works challenge our perceptions and engage our senses. A key aspect of the exhibition is the interaction of materials used by the artists. Drawing inspiration from nature, the artists explore various materials—from the delicate Hanji paper to the use of metals—offering diverse perspectives on their relationship with the natural world.
‘Timeless Expressions: Korean Art’ offers a moment of reconnection with nature and a celebration of Korean art beyond traditional concepts. Visitors are invited to experience the harmonious blend of the traditional and the modern, the natural and the man-made, in this extraordinary exhibition.
