Pierre Dunoyer

Pierre Dunoyer was born in Marseille in 1949.

After studying architecture and psychopathology, he began painting in 1976. His first paintings were shown in the three exhibitions of the JaNaPa group in 1978. Living between Paris and New York from 1979 to 1986, he established himself permanently in Paris from 1987, he exhibited in various galleries, including: Sonnabend (Paris, 1979-80), Gillepsie-Laage-Salomon (Paris, 1982), Nohra Haime (New York, 1985-87), Jeu de Paume (Paris, 1991), Palais des Congrès (Paris, 1998), Marc Blondeau Fine Art Services (Geneva, 2009), Farideh Cadot (Paris, 2012), Jean-Paul Najar Foundation (Dubai, 2017).

He has also participated in group exhibitions at the Villa Medici in Rome and the Tecla Sala in Barcelona, as well as in France at the Grand Palais, the Musée National d’Art Moderne and the Centre Pompidou. Invited by several institutions, Dunoyer has given lectures at the École du Louvre, the EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales) and the Collège International de Philosophie in Paris; at the Écoles Supérieures des Beaux-Arts in Dijon, Orléans and Valence in France and in Geneva in Switzerland.

Dunoyer’s paintings are part of the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra; the Mobilier National/Les Gobelins and the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain in Paris; and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lille; and the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris.
